Regular sized clay candlestick designed, prototyped and produced by artist Angus Gardner in his Naarm/Melbourne, Australia studio.

Each candlestick was hand-built and sculpted using specific weights of clay, which gave the artist a degree of freedom throughout the manufacture process. It was then given a glaze finish that was specifically developed by Angus for this project.

From the artist himself:

"The simplicity, ambiance and evolving sculptural nature of these objects is what drew me in. A candlestick in a room with a tall drippy candle possesses a beautiful energy. It is in its function and needs little physical interaction to perform its task. It emits an ambiance and calming energy within a space that is difficult to achieve with an electric light source. It is a constantly evolving sculptural form that develops as wax drips and builds over time and the flame flutters and moves with its surroundings"
